Purwanchal Nagarik Samity, a multifaceted organization in the Kankurgachi area, serving the society since 1976, always felt the need of a well-equipped school in the Eastern Metropolis of Kolkata and took a humble step in this direction. The dream of having a school became a reality in the share of PURWANCHAL VIDYAMANDIR at P-232, C.I.T. Road, Scheme - VIIM (Kankurgachi), Kolkata - 700054, which commenced from the academic session 1998-99. The School functions from Lower Infant to Class - XII. The School is affiliated for plus two level in all the three streams - Science, Commerce and Humanities. The School is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi, with the approval of the Department of Education of the Government of West Bengal.
