"Vikas Vidyalaya was established at Ranchi (Jharkhand) by Manav Vikas Vidyalaya Trust, Kolkata. The School provides education for students in a healthy atmosphere catering to all-round personality development.The School is an estate of around 200 acres in area, of which more than 50 acres are occupied by the School Complex . Inaugurated by Dr. Rajendra Prasad President Indian Union on March 8, 1953.Vikas Vidyalaya was born of an idea of synthesizing the best of the East with the best of West, which is within the obtainable limits in Public School Education System. The idea Public Schools was born in India few years before independence when the Indian Public Schools Conference was formed in the year 1939 on the initiative taken by few forward-looking Head-Masters such as Mr. Pearce. The Founder of Vikas Vidyalaya, Shri Rameshwar Lalji Nopany, had seen and known about the success of such schools abroad. In India, he had an idea of founding a school, which would be a school Like Eton and Harrow, But it would be an Indian Public School with the best of both. It would impart value-based education to future citizens of the country.If as a parent you wish to see your ward a balanced human being, who can make the right choices in life then Vikas Vidyalaya is the right place. Vikas Vidyalaya gives global experience to its students which help them to become mentally, physically and spiritually strong. The school aims to provide holistic atmosphere to develop its students, who may become good citizens to contribute positivity to the society.Vikas Vidyalaya is a home away from home with adequately furnished rooms for students to make the stay of the girls and boys comfortable. The infrastructure of our school was designed by American engineers; it signifies royalty, dignity and strength. The school building is divided uniformly into three major blocks consisting of laboratories, digital classes, lecture theatres, library and so on. There are separate hostels for girls and boys where there are Hostel Superintendents and House Masters/Mistress to look after the students and their needs 24X7.Our hostels are constructed in such a manner that 2 – 3 students share a room with ample washrooms having hot and cold running water. Each hostel is under the personal care and supervision of a Hostel Superintendent who looks into every small need of a student including clothing, health, hygiene, cleanliness, laundry etc. Filtered drinking water is provided in the hostels. Recreation rooms with T.V. and indoor games are provided in each hostel.The school has a team of highly qualified and experienced educators to motivate the young minds through interactive approach and group discussions. The endeavour on the part of the school is to inculcate social awareness and values through the CBSE curriculum. Stress is laid on developing social and behavioral attitudes of the children. In short, the school aims at the personality development of students through quality education, creative thinking, time management, conflict resolution, positive thinking and communicative skills.At Vikas Vidyalaya, education goes beyond academics and spills over to games fields, series of Co-curricular activities making education holistic in real sense. We train our students in various sports and games like Rifle Shooting, Basketball, Football, Marshall Arts, Volleyball, Hockey, Kabbaddi, Badminton, Tennis and Lawn Tennis throughout the year. The school actively competes at all levels e.g. Inter-House, Inter-school, State level and National level. Students are given intensive training in various sports by well-qualified coaches/staff. School has policy to give away awards in Sports to the students who bring laurels to the Country/State/District/Zonal/Inter-School tournaments in all major games and sports "
